Not turkey day

Over the weekend, I was reading in our local newspapers about turkey day coming up this Thursday. One such article was actually entitled, “Stuff Your Face on Turkey Day.” Let me state this clearly: that holiday is not turkey day, it is Thanksgiving Day!

Although many in the United States may eat turkey, many do not. Some don’t even eat.

Thanksgiving Day is a day to give thanks. A day to be grateful for whatever abundance we have been given. So between stuffing your face and planning your 6am day after Thanksgiving shopping trip, do take a moment and give thanks.

  1. Good point. Easy to forget.

  2. Amen, Neal. It’s my favorite holiday precisely because I have so many blessings (not the least of which is my family), and I enjoy spending a whole day focused upon them.
