My previous post, entitled Roots and Wings, talked of the dream of my graduating son soaring as moves on to the next stage of his life.
Hodding Carter, the Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, wrote that, “Two of the greatest gifts we can ever give our children are roots and wings.”
Roots that they may grow strong and always be grounded. Wings that they may soar, exploring a new world, new ideas, and a new life. This is the best we can give our children. And the challenge we parents face to provide these gifts.
