Burning Questions

Please excuse me for being redundant, full well knowing that I’ve asked these questions before. But indulge me, dear reader, as these questions, originally asked by Don McClean in American Pie, are truly of significance.

So here goes:

  1. Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
  2. Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
  3. Can music save your mortal soul,
  4. And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Please respond below. Be sure to number your responses to correspond to the questions posed above.

Thank you.

Bye, bye, Miss American Pie.

  1. 2. & 3. Carl Perkins answered it years before it was asked,
“Yeah that doctor told me, ‘Son you don’t need no pills,
just a handful of nickels and a jukebox will cure your ills.'”

  2. Carl certainly had that right, although now we’d need dollars for the juke box and simply fire up the iPod.

  3. (1) (a) Did you write the book of love,
    — No. I have read some pretty good books (and some really bad books) about it; I though I experienced it, but it turned out to be gas.

    (b) And do you have faith in God above, If the Bible tells you so?
—This also will have to be No. As the bible has been written by men to control people.

    (c) Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
—Rock ‘n Roll from the 1950’s, 1960’s, some from the 1970’s, and some from the 1980’s — Yes; the rest of the stuff they call rock ‘n roll I really can’t believe people buy it.

    (d) Can music save your mortal soul,
—No, but some music can calm you down while you are driving in rush hour so you don’t experience road rage.

And (e) can you teach me how to dance real slow?
—-Sorry, I’m not a dancer. Someone would have to teach me.

    Have a pleasant day!!!!
